Seaborough's SunLED technology can be seamlessly integrated into contemporary lighting & product designs in order to add a healthy near infrared light component to it. Clinical trials have shown significant positive effects, including a reduction in resting heart rate and a boost to the immune system. These findings, published in Biology early 2023, suggest that SunLED technology can effectively enhance human health and well-being through everyday lighting products.

Photobiomodulation is a biological phenomenon induced by exposure to near-infrared light. The working mechanism involves the activation of mitochondria, essential cellular components responsible for energy production. This activation leads to the production of ATP, nitric oxide (NO), and reactive oxygen species (ROS), each with positive downstream effects. While the cellular mechanisms are still under research, photobiomodulation has shown efficacy in treating various conditions, from wound healing to improved brain function.

To contribute to this understanding, Seaborough conducts clinical trial on the treatment parameters of near-infrared light. The first trial demonstrated significant effects on resting heart rate and immune parameters. The results are published in scientific journals.

"Human centric lighting" emphasizes the importance of light quality for human health. While many lighting products claim to be human-centric by offering dimmable and adjustable color temperature, Seaborough's SunLED technology goes beyond by integrating beneficial near-infrared light.
